The Security Services are looking to recruit additional Bank Security Officer's.


The post holders will be responsible for providing a "physical security presence" for the protection and safety of staff, patients, visitors and protecting Trust assets.


Applicants should have previous Security experience, have a professional and pleasant manner, have the ability to perform a variety of other duties at any given time and work as part of the Trust and Security Teams.


The post is Bank which means it is required on an as and when required basis to support the Security Services.


Grade & salary:
BAND 3


Hours per week:
(Flexible working) Monday to Sunday.


Tasks will include:


  • Providing a high profile security presence to deter violence & aggression / abuse towards NHS staff.
  • Performing regular patrols of the grounds, setting and unsetting alarms to buildings, monitoring Trust Security systems and report faults (CCTV, Access control, Panic & Intruder alarms),
  • Maintaining a daily record of occurrences, complete Trust Datix incidents reports, conduct risk assessments and investigate local crime.


The post holders will be required to liaise with the Police, provide statements in order to prosecute offenders committing crimes within AED or aggression towards Trust staff.


The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large District General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital.


The Trust provides services in all of the surgical and medical specialties common to a District General Hospital with some specialist services.

The Trust serves the whole of the local population currently in excess of 250,000 residents which geographically covers populations in England and North Wales.
