We are looking for a strong, dynamic teacher of English to work with our sixth form students at Progress Futures.

You need to be a forward thinker, embrace technology and believe in transforming the futures for our young people.
In addition to English you will lead the PSHCE curriculum across the sixth form and also head up student wellbeing.

Academic Background: Degree in a Relevant Teaching Subject, equivalent for SEN (desirable) Core Teaching Qualifications: An education based / teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS/DET) or be willing to work towards it.
Specialist Teaching Qualification (Desirable Experience: Have worked in a school environment.
Particularly, experience in SEND and / or sixth form would be an added advantage.
Teaching Subjects: English Knowledge: Have an understanding of specialist provision and dealing with students with additional needs.
Problem-Solving: Aptitude for solving problems and making effective decisions.
Communication: Professional communication with students and staff.
Promotion of Values: Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, safeguarding, wellbeing, and British values.
Time Management: Effective time management for planning, delivery, and assessment.
About the School: Progress Futures is part of Progress Arc (also within The Progress Group), the Group is made up of six business units, each of which aspires to innovate, influence, and inspire others through high-quality and purposeful education and training.
Progress Arc is based in Billinge, Wigan and Progress Futures is the sixth Form within the school.
At Progress Futures we currently support approximately 12 students within the sixth form to further their core qualifications and also to specialise in a pathway to further enhance their employability skills and future career path.
The sixth form is currently undergoing a full curriculum review and is set to grow in size over the next couple of years and therefore we need a progressive team to help support and deliver this growth.
