The Education Specialists are working closely alongside a Stockport Secondary School to recruit a Learning Support Assistant on a permanent basis.


The recruited Learning Support Assistants role will be to support young pupils with learning difficulties within a provision based in the mainstream secondary school.


This is a really good challenge for someone with experience with Special Needs who is looking to further their experience and gather new challenges.

Successful applicants will be offered the opportunity of a permanent role within the school.

The school are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is positive, calm, motivational, flexible, creative, and innovative.

You must be able to demonstrate that you are trustworthy and ethical, that you have a supportive nature, as well as being assertive,confident, and resourceful.

You will be working closely with the class Teacher and other staff to plan lessons on a 1:1 and small group basis to create a learning environment where pupils can expand their knowledge and play a positive role in school life.


Ideally you will have:

  • Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment, with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • The ability to demonstrate active listening skills and have strong verbal communication skills.
  • A dedication to establishing positive relationships with pupils and understanding their needs.
  • The ability to provide varying levels of individual attention, reassurance, and support with learning tasks, as appropriate to each pupils' needs.
  • The ability to provide constructive feedback in a way that reinforces pupils' selfesteem.
  • The ability to handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding.
  • A strong desire to inspire and a passion for supporting and nurturing pupils.
  • The ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of a team.
