Job Summary:


aPriori is looking for an Associate Cost Modeler to develop and support mechanistic process models for a constantly growing list of manufacturing processes that are integrated into aPriori's software solutions.


Responsibilities:


  • Research and develop knowledge in various manufacturing processes and distil manufacturing and sustainability insights.
  • Use of the company's process modeling platform to develop simulation models that will estimate part manufacture, tooling costs, and emissions.
  • Research, design, and build models to simulate the manufacturing activities of various manufacturing processes.
  • Review and enhance existing mechanistic models

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Understand manufacturing processes and be able to decouple the ideas and concepts which drive the major components of cost and emissions.
  • Understand how design factors and the manufacturing process impact the cycle time, material utilization, tooling, and other drivers for manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to assemble large varieties of information about manufacturing processes (some of which may be new to the individual) together into a coherent mechanistic model.
  • Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Programming or other experience in automating calculation/decision support or mathematical modeling experience (e.g. Spreadsheets, Statistical Analysis Packages, etc.)
  • Proven critical thinker with selfmotivation
  • Be comfortable working with 3D CAD systems.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical, Automotive, Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering required.
