Description

Very few insurance brokers have embraced Insurance Surveying with the same level of commitment as this forward-thinking corporate broking house.

Rather than seeing this service as somewhat of an 'after thought' and relying on outsourced support, it has developed an inhouse consultancy that is the envy of many competing brokers.

Whilst this is a hugely successful global insurance broking concern, the Branch Director says, "We are deliberately different to our peers.

Whilst we are a 'corporate', we operate very much as an independent business, which our employees really value." They go on to tell us how stable and strong the division is, which is reflected by its impressive organic growth over the last few years.

Working in conjunction with the branch network throughout the North, you will conduct Property & Business Interruption (PDBI) surveys across a diverse range of industry sectors including Construction, Engineering, Manufacturing, Retail, Haulage, Real Estate, Property Owners, Motor Trade and Haulage.

Duties will include, but not be limited to, visiting insureds' and prospective clients' premises, calculating EMLs and PMLs, and writing detailed follow-up reports.

In this consultancy-style role, your crucial work will allow your colleagues in the Broking Department to have more constructive conversations, and indeed enhanced leverage, with Underwriters, thus enabling them to market risks more effectively during renewal negotiation / new business exercises.

In addition, you'll attend surveys in conjunction with insurers' own Surveyors, to ensure that their requirements are understood clearly by the client, and that risk improvements and recommendations are fair and reasonable, challenging these where appropriate.

This is a home-based position, covering the North of England (although this can be tweaked to suit your personal circumstances), and you will be granted a great autonomy in regards to managing your own diary.

In return, you will benefit from a highly competitive basic salary of up to circa £55K plus £5K car allowance, bonus, a market-leading 'flexible' benefits package and support towards professional qualifications.

In this position, you will only be limited by your own ambition, and this opportunity could really boost your profile within this close-knit industry.
