We are Eden Futures, and we deliver exceptional support services for people aged 18 and over who have learning disabilities, autism, mental ill health and associated complex needs.

new People Strategy for 2023 Our intention is to build a workforce that is happy, resilient, and able to fulfil their potential as we develop and grow our services. As an HR team, we are focused on ensuring that our staff experience is a positive one throughout the employee lifecycle to attract and retain the best people and be able to change and adapt to provide excellent care and meet the needs of our service users.

The role will be based from our Head Office in Long Bennington (at least once per week) with flexibility for home working.

Main Responsibility:


As our HR Advisor, you will work closely with the HR Team to provide a customer-focused and professional HR service.


Reporting to the HR Manager, you will:

  • Provide responsive and proactive advice to managers and staff.
  • Support and advise on a wide range of issues including interpretation of a range of policies including sickness absence management, disciplinary, grievance, performance management, dignity at work and terms and conditions of employment.
  • Be the first point of contact for managers in relation to ER queries and cases. Cases with high complexity or considered high risk will be supported by the HR Manager for guidance and support.
  • To assist Managers in the management of attendance. This will include assisting with sickness absence reviews up to and including Final formal meetings under our policy and obtaining Occupational Health reports, when required. In addition, the post holder will advise and support Managers in illhealth capability and redeployment situations and the management of staff who are classed as disabled under the terms of the Equality Act.
  • To advise and support managers in handling disciplinary cases, specifically at investigation stage.
  • As requested or as appropriate, coach managers through the dealing of cases of misconduct, attendance, performance or change issues. This may include providing training/workshops, attending meetings, supporting the manager and/or the preparation of letters, reports or other documentation.
  • Support the HR Manager and HR Business Partner in employee engagement activities, to support Eden Futures' People Strategy.
  • Contribute towards the administration of annual activity and projects including but not limited to; salary review, reward and recognition, performance management and engagement.


This is an exciting role with a broad scope of responsibility, so we are looking for an individual who will work well as part of the team to achieve results and also use your own initiative.


You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to influence and negotiate, as well as being a good team player.

It would be an advantage to have previous experience within Health and Social Care, although this is not essential.

  • Demonstrated HR Advisor experience with a strong ER background
  • Excellent ER knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and varied environment, with experience in adapting to change based on business requirements
  • Experience of providing a commercial, insight driven, proactive people service
  • CIPD qualified, ideally Level 5 or working towards
  • The ability to interact with staff at all levels
  • Committed to providing a high quality and efficient service to support the operation
