What you'll do


We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help us on the next phase of our journey to becoming London's next tech unicorn.

We have big plans over the next few years, and we need someone with proven experience to stand with the C-Suite and represent the voice of our customer, whilst steering us to operational excellence.


We have built a dynamic, collaborative culture in which we hire and develop smart, driven people that share our desire to do work we can be proud of.

Our Operations team covers client services, onboarding (AML/KYC) and payments, settlements and reconciliations (PSR, back-office operations) and has grown to a team of 70+.

We are looking for someone who has the wisdom and experience to think strategically and "big picture", with the capability and talent to drive our ambitions for increasing operational capacity in a sustainable and scalable way.

As a member of the senior leadership team (SLT), you will have proven leadership credentials across both front
- and back-office operations and understand the complexities that come with both, in a regulated payments business. You'll be results driven and have already demonstrated the skills, knowledge and experience to lead, plan, develop and implement enhanced efficiencies and value-add for our clients, in a scaling business. You will also have overall accountability for our Risk function.


You'll be a strategic leader who can make change happen quickly, creating an environment where people can do their best work, obsess about quality, and take pride in representing the business in the right way.

We need a strong leader with integrity, who can solve complex problems and obsesses over continuous improvements. Are you up for the challenge?


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Provide decisive leadership in building and delivering against a scalable operational strategy that is compelling for our customers, our colleagues and investors
  • Work with your Heads of to ensure high standards of customer excellence are maintained and that all necessary processes are both automated where possible and being managed in the most efficient way
  • Take overall accountability for our Risk function, and lead responsibly on all of our operational procedures from a risk perspective
  • Work with the SLT as a strategic and operational thought leader to maximise current and future opportunities that enable the business to continue to be dynamic, innovative and market leading as it scales and grows
  • Act as a coach and mentor to the senior members of the operations team, being their "go to" for advice and solutions show them what "great" looks like
  • Advise and support on any necessary org structural enhancements and recruitment
  • Build on our highperformance, collaborative culture and provide energy, leadership, creativity and innovation
  • Work with the C-Suite to demonstrate the values and desired behaviours of our culture and be a brand ambassador of these
  • Create an environment that promotes continuous improvement

What you'll need:


  • 5+ years proven experience at the COO level within a larger scaling techenabled business
  • Emotional intelligence. You have the ability to read the room and build a compell
