Location: Stevenage office (with dynamic working agreements allowing flexibility and balance of office and remote working)

Description

We are seeking a skilled Thermal Engineer to join our growing team, providing thermal management expertise and solutions across all MBDA products.

As a Thermal Engineer at MBDA, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, developing electronic and mechanical equipment, and underwriting thermal performance of systems and their integration into weapon platforms.

Typical activities will range from research & development through to delivery of the product using low and high fidelity thermal modelling, physical testing, and liaison with suppliers, customers, and other MBDA project team members.

The successful candidate will be involved in the thermal management of air, sea, and ground launched missiles, launchers, and directed energy weapons.

Responsibilities

Developing electronic and mechanical equipment in our products
Underwriting the thermal performance of systems and their integration into weapon platforms
Working on the thermal management of air, sea, and ground launched missiles, launchers, and directed energy weapons
Liaising with suppliers, customers, and other MBDA project team members
Research & development through to delivery of the product using low and high fidelity thermal modelling, physical testing

Requirements

Good problem-solving skills coupled with a sound fundamental knowledge of heat transfer analysis using computational methods and manual calculations
Experience applying CAE tools (ANSYS Mechanical/FLUENT/Icepak, MATLAB, Simulink, and Python) to investigate heat transfer problems in an industrial environment
Post graduate qualification in a subject relevant to the role is desirable

What We Offer

Competitive salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum depending on experience
Company bonus: Up to £2,500 based on company performance and will vary year to year
