Cobalt Fashion UK Ltd are looking for an experienced, creative, ambitious, and dedicated Designer who specialises in Knitwear. We are looking for an established Designer who has effective communication skills and can work in a collaborative environment.

Able to view and understand ever changing trends season to season, able to think outside the box and have a very commercial eye.

CAD, Adobe and exceptional organisational skills are crucial for this role, along with a keen eye for detail.


Key Designer responsibilities:


  • Accountable for creating trend led ranges within the team based in the clients specifications, working closely with a graphics and print team.
  • Commercially aware of current trends and themes, developing the brand and working with production to ensure all products are designed and manufactured in line with the brands direction and critical path within sometimes tight deadlines.
  • Working as part of the design team to provide an effective and efficient service to various areas of the business.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers to develop new ranges. This will include attending sales meetings with customers and suppliers.
  • Supporting the business in adding value to its clients, understanding and researching new product development opportunities.
  • Share knowledge of manufacturing process and techniques.

Key Skills / Experiences:


  • The successful applicants will have 4 to 5 years knitwear design experience within a fashion retailer/ apparel for the designer roles, assistant designer roles may be considered with less experience
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials.
  • Target driven with a passion for fashion and the confidence to grow and develop.
  • Ability to produce technical sheets for manufacturing products.
  • Flexible with working hours including overtime and travel.
  • Strong CAD and illustrator skills
  • Digital approach to working processes
  • Good communication skills, time management and presentation skills
