Essex Education Consultancy Services (EECS) are working in partnership with several local secondary schools in the Chelmsford area who have increased need for daily supply staff to assist them with staffing absences.

All the schools which we work with have a detailed structure and behaviour management system for you to follow. We offer a full training course which trains you in all aspects in working as a Cover Supervisor.

We are extremely passionate about finding roles for local people and offering local children the best education possible with consistent & valuable staff.

The role of a Cover Supervisor is a perfect gateway for those who are either considering or interested in a career within education.

Several our successful cover supervisors have continued their education careers into teaching with our partnership schools.

We support all our day-to-day staff and solely work with schools which we are in partnership with which can support you in your daily tasks.

The schools which we work with often have the need to recruit permanent cover supervisors. We have successfully found that several of our cover supervisors have continued into permanent roles and often teaching.

The role of a Cover Supervisor is a varied one, below are a brief description of the duties you may be undertaking:

Supervise classes across all Key Stages & Subjects setting pre-set work in the usual teachers absence
Supervising & Assisting students in 11 and small groups when not being used to lead a classroom
Managing behaviour of all students and following school behaviour policy which will be provided.

To be suitable for this position you need to have:

Ideally experience working with secondary school age students
Transferable experience
Ideally have a teaching related qualification, experience in education or degree level qualification.
A real passion for education & teaching

We do have Cover Supervisor positions which are on a long-term basis as well as ADHOC supply for the right applicant.

This role is ideal if you have other life commitments or a current degree course whereby you can choose which days you wish to work on a weekly basis.

Dependent on experience the pay of a Cover Supervisor starts at a minimum of £80 per day before employment costs (Eers NI, Eees NI & Tax applicable).

Dependent on the travel distance and length of commitment this can raise up to £110 per day before employment costs with over 2 years' experience.

We will be running a one-day training course on the 13th September 2023 which covers all aspects of working in a school as a cover supervisor including:
