_MAIN OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES _

  • Primarily the role will comprise of working closely with the Civil Aviation & Defence Account Managers, working effectively as a team to maximise the sales & profit performance of Didsbury Engineering, whilst delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Proactively assist with the efficient and smooth running of the Commercial Department by ensuring function processes are followed, customers are communicated with effectively in terms of quotes and delivery updates, whilst also proactively looking to grow future business sales.
  • Engage with the various Didsbury Engineering departments to ensure the best possible service is provided to the customer and any project actions or customer requests are coordinated and implemented according to timeline promises made.
  • Develop & maintain strong customer relationships within the account to grow & maximise Sales & Profit opportunities for Didsbury Engineering.
  • Support the Account Managers in all new customer opportunities, ensuring the first impression of the
Didsbury Engineering capabilities is a positive experience.

  • Participate in regular internal customer review meetings with the Account Managers to identify issues or opportunities.
  • Maintain an uptodate knowledge of the company's products and services to cross and/or upsell when consulting with customers.
  • Act as first point of contact for incoming telephone calls to the business.

_MAIN DUTIES _

  • Communicate, discuss & agree actions with the Account Managers for any new opportunities identified within existing customer accounts.
  • Process all customer sales orders with due care & attention, adopting a 'getitright first time' approach.
  • Ensure required customer paperwork is completed correctly to company or individual customer requirements and within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure the timely & professional delivery of customer quotations, following review with the Account


Managers that the quotation has been authorised & is viable for the business, both in terms of selling price & profit, in addition to the size & volume of the quote.


  • Obtain Sales Support Manager or Head of Commercial approval for all quotations that fall outside of current authorised customer terms.
  • Question any sales order or quotation that does not appear to make financial or business sense.
  • Follow up quotations in a timely manner or as required to align with customer timelines to maximise the quote conversion success rate.
  • Consult with internal departments to ensure customer service and delivery promises are achieved.
  • Assist the Finance Department with customer credit control.
  • Ensure all relevant export control requirements are fully implemented & adhered too, to fulfil delivery of the order. Attention to detail will be key.
  • Engage with Technical, Engineering & Quality Departments regarding any product or customer issues.
  • Present the capabilities of Didsbury Engineering in a clear and professional manner at all times.
