Two exciting opportunities have arisen to work as team leaders in the Lewisham or Lambeth Community Forensic Teams. We are looking for two experienced mental health practitioners, nurses, social workers or occupational therapists.


The individuals will require experience of working in the community and have a desire to progress into management as well as an interest in forensics.


The teams are made of a diverse MDTs, we offer teaching sessions, space for reflective practice and an opportunity to be a champion in your chosen area.


The post holders will provide line management and clinical leadership to the teams, working closely with Clinical Service Lead and General Manager, Consultant and other professionals to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of service provisions.

The aim of these posts is to ensure integrated clinical, quality and financial outcomes are achieved within the service scope.


The post holders will be expected to develop and maintain positive communication and working relationships with a range of groups and individuals both internally and externally.

These include Multi-disciplinary team, Clinical Service Lead, General Manager, Forensic inpatient Services, local general adult inpatient services.

  • To have overall management responsibility for the delivery of care within the Lewisham or Lambeth Community Forensic Teams, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • To lead a team of professional and support staff in the delivery of high quality evidencebased practice, ensuring that regular supervision and appraisal take place.
  • To manage administrative and operational resources in a costeffective manner, evaluating the standard of service delivered.
  • To coordinate multidisciplinary working, maintaining excellent communication and working relationships with all team members, and other services within the Trust, to ensure effective interface and continuity of care between disciplines and services.
  • The postholder to carry out clinical and managerial procedures to a standard that ensures safe and effective care, and complies with the relevant Code of Professional Conduct. There is an expectation that the post holder will place the needs of service users at the centre of care delivery.
  • The postholder will be based with the Lewisham Community Forensic Team.
  • The postholder will support the Advanced Practitioners in the Team in ensuring case allocation, supervision, appraisals are managed in supportive manner.
  • The postholder will supervise the clinical work of the team and will carry out direct casework as required, including participation in audit as well as QI projects relevant to the service.

  • Implementation of the complaints procedure including investigation, response, and resolution.
  • Ensuring that their line manager is kept informed of all developments and changes within the team.
