Description

Founded in 1985, Turbo Power Services (TPS) specialises in the supply, overhaul and upgrade of gas turbine auxiliary and fuel system components for the oil, gas, petrochemical and power generation industries.


Responsibilities:


  • Evaluate the condition of component; by disassembly, cleaning and inspection in accordance with company procedures.
  • Rebuild and Test the product in accordance with company procedures.
  • Generate test report detailing criteria tested and readings obtained which is stored in the project folder and approved during the final quality inspection by the engineering department.
  • Use inspection equipment such as micrometers, vernier's and bore gauges to measure components in compliance with the company procedure.
  • Use of specialist test rigs as and when required in line with company procedures. Use of hand tools within the workshop to carry out jobs such as disassembly and reassembly of components undergoing repair.
  • Use of manual machine tools such as lathes and surface grinders to machine components.
  • Use of lifting equipment; pallet truck and overhead crane.
  • Safe use of cleaning equipment; chemical cleaning plants, shot blasting, aqua blasting, ultra sonic cleaning tanks and jet wash etc.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, Training and Experience:

  • Must be educated to mechanical/electrical engineering apprentice level or equivalent.
  • Ideally with a working knowledge/background in Gas Turbines, with some knowledge of electrical/instrument and PLC.
  • Previous experience of working within a factory environment is desirable (from the apprenticeship)
  • Fork Lift Truck License Desirable
  • Manual Handling and over head crane training desirable.
  • Planning and organisational skills are also required to ensure departmental and business objectives and deadlines are met whilst ensuring the integrity of the Company.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills are required to convey issues to your management and employees alike.
  • PC literate: Expert knowledge of spreadsheets and reporting computer systems is essential. All round appreciation and understanding of Information Technology including hardware, software and networking arrangements.

Up to £13.70 per hour
