Overview:

Supporting Farmers, the Rural Economy, and Feeding the Country

Responsibilities:


Main Duties

  • Ensuring Technical targets are met within deadlines, without compromising quality or control of costs.
  • Driving our food safety culture through interacting with staff and taking an active role in promoting food safety campaigns as Food Safety Week.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping is maintained.
  • Ensuring that Quality, Health & Safety and other Company policies are adhered to and liaising with relevant departments to ensure issues are resolved.
  • Maintaining good employee relations and promoting equality of opportunity.
  • Ensuring relevant SOPs are adhered to.
  • Checking that technical requirements set within the factory are adhered to through continuous monitoring and evaluating compliance against legal and BRC Standards.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key processes including contamination, metal detection, temperatures, weight control, and labels.
  • Conducting verification checks in accordance with site HACCP plan, e.g., OPRP checks, and food defence checks.
  • Collecting samples and carrying out swabbing as part of the lab testing programme.
  • Initiating and verifying corrective action on any production issues as they occur including food safety, processes, equipment and product quality issues.
  • Continuously improving technical standards on site by liaising with relevant personnel to investigate all nonconformities raised in order to determine root cause.
  • Ensuring all current documents in use are correctly completed and kept as quality records.
  • Ensuring traceability procedures are followed by production, and that traceability is clearly visible on all raw materials, including packaging.
  • Covering of work colleagues' duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Have relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, organisational, time management and attention to detail skills.
  • Have the ability to work within a team as well as independently.
  • Committed to working within the company Mission, Vision & Values.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office would be an advantage.
