Due to our continuing success across the East Midlands; we are looking for a Building Surveyor wishing to develop their career as part of a vibrant and growing Leicester office.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting on a full range of building surveying instructions on a variety of commercial properties, including offices, retail and industrial
  • Assisting in providing professional work to clients including schedules of dilapidations, preacquisition surveys, party wall awards, defect diagnosis, planned preventative maintenance reports, fire insurance valuations, disability audits, schedules of condition
  • Taking particulars on site, writing up specifications, obtaining estimates, planning maintenance programmes and administering contracts for maintenance work
  • Analyse and report on building defects
  • Handling claims and negotiations with loss adjusters leading to the preparation of drawings and specifications for remedial work
  • Assisting with coordination of portfolio instructions and undertaking other duties from time to time as may be reasonably required
  • Business Development and Client Care awareness
  • Responsibility for own continuous professional learning

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Relevant degree qualified
  • RICS approved
  • Good CAD drawing / specification writing skills
  • Some private practice experience


The role will require you to be the key point of contact with our prestigious clients, therefore a high level of communication skills and commercial awareness are essential for being successful in this role.


As a Building Surveyor at Ridge and Partners you will need to demonstrate the desire, drive and a real enthusiasm to becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor which will be fully supported by the company (the national Ridge APC support process) and the local Building Surveying Team.
