White Rose CIC is a registered UK charity retailer founded in 2009 by Nottingham Trent university students to support the work of Aegis Trust.

Aegis is a UK NGO that aims to prevent and resolve conflict and mass atrocities through peace education programmes in communities worldwide.

At White Rose we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, as we actively support Aegis in their mission to prevent discrimination that leads to mass atrocities.

White Rose support Aegis by selling handpicked, high quality, pre-loved fashion items and accessories in our multiple shops across Nottinghamshire, beyond and now online 100% of the profits generated by White Rose goes to support the work of the Aegis Trust.

How you can help:

Our upcycling and repair volunteers work closely with the fashion supply team at our distribution centre in Nottingham to repurpose our generous donations.

This role includes repairing donations and upcycling clothing and têxtiles in an unsellable condition, transforming them into new garments.

It is our mission to make every donation count and our volunteers make a real difference to help us achieve this.

If you are motivated, hardworking and keen to learn new skills or share your knowledge, experience and talents, come to support an amazing cause Knowledge and experience of basic DIY sewing skills is helpful for this role, but not necessary as full training will be provided and it is a great opportunity for anyone interested in gaining experience in fashion design, garment making and sewing.

We offer a full induction as well as ongoing training opportunities to make sure you feel confident and able to excel in your volunteer role with White Rose.

Typical responsibilities of an upcycling volunteer are:

  • Repurpose damaged clothing using scrap têxtiles into new oneoff pieces.
