Do you have experience of administering numerous pieces of information to make decisions against a set criteria? If so, we are looking for a SENIF Finance Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.


The SENIF Finance Assistant will work within the SENIF Team, liaising with the SENIF Monitoring Officers and supporting the SENIF Finance Officer to allocate the financial element of the Kent SENIF Offer.

The SENIF Finance Assistant will provide a professional financial and data information support function within the team.

Duties and responsibilities also include effective management of information and tracking systems, to ensure the Fund is effectively and accurately controlled.


The SENIF Finance Assistant will be organised, have the ability to multi-task, deal with complex queries and confidently communicate with a range of stakeholders whilst reviewing funding requests against criteria.

The SENIF Finance Assistant will support the SENIF Finance Officer to manage the day-to-day SENIF Processes ensuring the SENIF Offer is effectively allocated to Kent's Private, Voluntary, Independent (PVI), Maintained Pre-School settings and Childminders to support children with additional needs.

You will also support the process for agreeing access to Specialist Interventions from Special Schools when deputising for the SENIF Finance Officer.


The SENIF Finance Assistant will be Educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent appropriate qualification in Business Administration (including GCSE Mathematics and English grade 4 to 9).


Work will be mostly remote, with the requirement to attend meetings in central locations and option to work in the KCC office if preferred.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
