Credit Controller
Location - Head Office - York (Holgate Park Road, York YO26 4GN)

Salary - £23,000 per annum based on experience

We are the largest provider of outpatient mental healthcare in the UK and Denmark, supporting private medical insurers, employers, occupational health teams, healthcare professionals and individuals.

As a Credit controller you would be expected process client invoices, handle associated queries and ensure effective debt collection.

Assist with the processing of Clinician and other purchase invoices onto the accounting system and provide support to the Transaction Manager for all other activities.


Responsibilities:


  • Generate monthly Bordereau invoices for key clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to any specific requirements for each client
  • Deal with associated queries to facilitate timely payment
  • Identify and escalate disputed accounts and define resolutions
  • Liaise with customers and internal staff to resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Setting up new customer accounts ensuring all information is present and correct
  • Reconcile remittance advices against client accounts
  • Producing and distributing monthly statements to clients where necessary
  • Maintaining excellent customer relationships at all times
  • Assisting with Accounts Payable functions as and when required
  • Operate as a valued contributor to Finance and the wider business
  • Take pride in leading by example, using effective personal behaviours in line with our Company values
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, develop constructive and co operative working relationships with others and maintain them over time
  • Provide effective updates and reports to your line manager
  • Resolve conflicts and support the clients and clinicians with any specific queries

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a fastpaced accounts team, with a focus on Credit Control is essential
  • Previous experience of working in a client focused environment with the ability to communicate at all levels is essential
  • The ability to work within a team, understand processes and work proactively is essential
  • IT literate with intermediate experience of Excel (Pivot Tables, V Lookups)
  • Confident, articulate and adept in obtaining information
  • Organised and methodical in your approach to work and able to prioritise work appropriately
  • A robust approach to relationships and interactions with colleagues
  • A capable team player appreciating the importance of team goals
  • A proven focus on improving effectiveness and efficiency of processes
  • Positive attitude even during pressurised periods within the finance department
  • The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and meet critical deadlines

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
Up to £23,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Experience:

- accounting: 1 year (preferred)

- credit control: 1 year (required)
