Do you enjoy working with Primary aged students who have SEN?

Would you like to work with SEN but within a mainstream setting?

About the role

You will be based within this wonderful mainstream Primary school's specialist Alternative Resource Provision (ARP) for students with special educational needs.

All students who attend the provision have an EHCP statement of Autism and some speech and languageneeds as a result.

You will be working in the ARP's KS2 class with up to 12 students who split their time between the provision and spending time in the mainstream class as you may do also.

You will be working on a 1:3 basis with students alongside the classteacher and at least 2 other Learning Support Assistants in the class.

Your role will include influencing positive interactions with peers, keeping class focus and attention and helping with any interventions needed to ensure students are getting the most out of their time in the classroom (i.e. behavioural interventions ortaking students out of the classroom to regulate their emotions when needed). Your role will be 5 days per week, 8.30am-4pm Monday-Friday during term time as students require consistency in staff.

About the school

This West Drayton based Primary school has a Additionally Resourced Provision that has 21 places for children with an ASD diagnosis across primary ages (3-11years).

There are 9 students in their KS1 class and 12 in the KS2 class.

Students spend 50% of theirtime in the provision and 50% within mainstream classrooms and so access the needed interventions and specialist support that will help them to excel within their education.

Teaching Assistants help these students both within the provision and in mainstreamclasses to promote inclusivity and integration with peers as well as ensuring students have every opportunity to access the national curriculum.

The school is a short walk from West Ealing station, serviced by the Elizabeth Line, Chiltern Railways and GreatWestern Railways so is easily accessible from across London.
