Summary:

The Agency Teaching Assistant is a vital member of our educational agency, supporting our educators in providing high-quality educational services to students.

This role involves assisting with instructional activities, providing classroom support, and ensuring the smooth operation of our educational programs.

The Agency Teaching Assistant will work closely with our agency's educators and other staff members to create a positive learning environment and facilitate student success.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist educators in planning and implementing instructional activities, including lesson preparation, materials organization, and classroom setup.
  • Provide support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, through differentiated instruction and accommodations as directed by the educators.
  • Supervise and manage students during instructional activities, transitions, and breaks, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Provide oneonone or small group support to students who require additional assistance with academic or behavioral challenges.
  • Help maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavior, and assist with student assessments as needed.
  • Assist with the implementation of classroom management strategies, including behavior management techniques and individualized behavior plans.
  • Collaborate with educators and other staff members to create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Support educators in the use of educational technology, including computers, software, and other instructional tools.
  • Assist with clerical tasks, such as photocopying, organizing materials, and maintaining classroom supplies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in education.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in education or related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with students in an educational setting, such as a classroom or tutoring environment, is desirable.
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques for supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and software, including computers, tablets, and educational apps.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with students, educators, and other staff members.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and be flexible in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and any other clearance requirements as mandated by the agency or local regulations.
