Oxfordshire County Council have an opportunity for an experienced
Assistant Learning and Access Officer (Museum Resource Centre) to join our team. You will be working on a
part time, temporary contract for 12 months(18.5hours per week) and in return, you will receive a competitive salaryof
£24,948 - £26,845 pro-rata, per annum.

About the Assistant Learning and Access Officer role:

Once fully recruited, the Learning and Access team will total five members of staff based at the Museum Resource Centre.

The team reports to the Museum Service Manager who has overall responsibility for the Oxfordshire Museum Service.

The
Assistant Learning and Access Officer supports the Supervisor and fellow officers in refreshing our learning programmes and will deliver activities both at our sites and within the community and at schools.

This role is integral to the developmentand delivery of our learning programmes.

The successful applicant will be ready to contribute new ideas and have a flexible and positive approach. They will be happy to work independently and as part of the small Learning and Access Team.


What we are looking for in our ideal Assistant Learning and Access Officer:

  • Experience of delivering a variety of learning experiences within a heritage / museum context
  • Experience of delivering learning to children in a formal educational setting
  • Experience of working with older people
  • Organisational skills and ability to adaptto change
  • Literate and numerate with English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Good communication skills and ability to deliver high standards of verbal and written presentation
  • Sensitive to others with an ability to empathise with users
  • Ability to drive a van (not HGV) and hold a current clean driving licence and to travel around Oxfordshire and the wider region
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings & weekends
  • Ability to assist with loading, transporting and setting up equipment
