Cost Analyst | Cardiff hybrid working | £35,597 - £39,278 plus benefits

Responsibilities:


  • Provide detailed analysis and understanding of the drivers of cost and effect of key cost drivers on operating costs at local, company and industry levels with focus on the efficiency of the operation, cost trends and developments in the external environment.
  • To ensure that data is presented accurately and data in models remains relevant to ensure it can be relied upon for decision making.
  • Carry out detailed analysis into key cost lines and activities.
  • Identify and implement best practice modelling techniques.
  • Champion continuous improvement and data accuracy within the business planning team and wider business.
  • Develop MI, providing insight into current performance and its impact in the short and longterm.
  • Provide accurate data to the regulator.
  • Contribute to company and industry studies as required.
  • Maintain an awareness of strategies, policies and developments.

Skills, experience:


  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or working towards qualification.
  • Previous experience in cost analysis and model development.
  • Demonstrable advanced Excel/VBA/SQL skills.
  • Organised and able to manage workloads to meet deadlines and respond to a rapidly changing environment.
