Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Materials Management Officer with a flexible approach and great customer service skills to join our team at the Princess Royal Hospital in HaywardsHeath.


To provide a high quality and professional Materials Management service throughout the Trust ensuring appropriate levels of stock and supply routes for products are selected and used.

The procurement/commercial team have a range of backgrounds and experience.

We are united by our desire to build strong relationships with operational and clinical colleagues and with our suppliers in order to deliver value to the Trust and to our patients.

All staff within the team have access to training and development opportunities, including support for a professional procurement qualification.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to spend all of your working week on the hospital site.

Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of a high-quality Materials Management service maximising the benefit of the service to the Trust.


Undertake reviews of stock holding on a regular basis and as directed by the Supplies Team Leader to determine if any changes are needed to stock levels.


Purchase goods to obtain best value for money for the Trust, working within the public sector policy and legal framework.


Support the location / relocation of stock for existing and / or new wards / areas through timely decanting / priming of ward storage areas.

Ensure items, relevant to the post and areas supported, are receipted on to the purchasing ordering system.


The role involves a significant amount of walking, manual handling, unloading and unpacking goods from cages and restocking ward and department stock rooms.
