SEMH School located in Uxbridge is recruiting a Behavioural Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a Monday to Friday 08:30am - 3:30pm contract role to start immediately.

This is an Inclusive SEMH School that caters to children diagnosed with ASD / SEMH and Complex Needs.

Within this role you would be supporting child(ren) on either a 1:1 basis and / or small groups, assisting the child(ren) with their work, de-escalatingbehaviour as and when required, safeguarding children, building a strong rapport, being non-judgemental, resilient and not taking things to heart.

Typically the class in this SEMH School is between - 7 children per class, with an SEN Teacher and severalsupport behavioural staff.


Would be beneficial if you have worked in either an SEMH School/ Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)/ SEN School / Mainstream School or Youth Centre.

If not you ideally will have had some interaction with children who has been diagnosed withbehavioural SEN; ie SEMH/ ASD/ ASC/ ODD/ ADD/ ADHD/ CAMHS/ Challenging Behaviour etc.

You will have 1:1 and small group experience in a child support post.

Additionally, you have experience working as either a Child Residential Worker/ SEN TA/ Behaviour Mentor/Learning Mentor/ LSA/ HLTA/ Teaching Assistant or Youth Worker.


  • Preferably you have worked in a support role in either an SEM School / SEN School/ Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)/ Alternative Provision / Mainstream School/ Residential Setting
  • Preferably you have worked as either a Behaviour LSA/ SEN TA/ Behaviour Mentor/ Youth Worker/ HLTA and or Learning Mentor
  • 1:1 and/or small groups support with children experience
  • Your SEN experience; SEMH/ CAMHS /ADHD/ Behaviour Difficulties/ MLD/ Learning Difficulties / ASD// ODD/ ADD/ Complex Needs
  • Can safely deescalating behaviour if required
  • Commutable distance to Uxbridge by car or public transport
