Senior Multichannel Copywriter (12 months FTC)


As a senior copywriter, you'll be expected to deliver both sales and service-based copy, that supports Virgin Media O2's growing range of digital products.


You'll work alongside UX managers, designers, developers, product owners, and content/editorial teams to create amazing experiences across multiple platforms, devices, locations, and channels.


As part of the Online, Stores, and Supply Chain team, reporting to the Head of Multichannel Copy the Multichannel Copy team are accountable for creating and delivering a clear and concise copy to underpin; Online commercial performance, KPI's, broad business strategy and plans, marketing campaigns, trading messages, and new product launches.


Key responsibilities:

  • To be passionate about copywriting, proactive, a perfectionist, and can work at the speedy pace we're used to, both managing our own workload and assisting others
  • As a Senior Copywriter, have the ability to manage and balance the needs of several stakeholders simultaneously
  • To be the lead on key campaigns and projects, including site redesigns, new initiatives, prop launches, and more, across both our consumer and business websites
  • Work with internal stakeholders to gather insight and requirements
  • Take responsibility for the endtoend copy production process, modifying copy as required, and always looking at ways to improve the process
  • Lead on key projects and page and site redesigns, ensuring copy is a key factor in the way the experience is shaped, from an early stage
  • Mentor, assist, and inspire the Online Copywriter, through regular catchups and brainstorming sessions
  • Introduce new ways of working to help improve efficiency throughout the team
  • Be proactive in optimising and improving the digital experience by leveraging customer insight across all touchpoints, embedding a culture of testing, learning, and improving
  • Help define and manage website governance process, including responsibility for tone of voice and legal compliance and adherence to web standards & accessibility
  • Solve interaction copy problems using analytics, usability testing, and internal/external research
The must-haves

  • 4+ years of copywriting experience, preferably online
  • Excellent written English, with an eye for detail
  • A strong communicator, passionate about writing, and able to enthuse others
  • A clear understanding of user behaviour online (desktop, mobile & tablet), and best practice thinking in this area
  • Understanding and experience of writing in a specific tone of voice and house style
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage workload and prioritise accordingly
