Bookkeeper (part-time). Bolton hours. £25K - 30K pro-rata
This is probably the best bookkeeping job in the world

Bold claim? Yes.

Probably a lie? Also, yes.

But, as bookkeeping jobs go, it's pretty damn good:

A lovely, friendly team, with zero office politics.
Plenty of flexibility (work from home some days each week).
Trust and autonomy to get the job done with zero micromanagement.
The opportunity to add some variety and learn payroll.

We invest in start-up recruitment businesses and provide lots of central functions across that group of businesses.

One of those functions is looking after back-office for each partner business: Bookkeeping / Management Accounts / Weekly Payrolls for Temporary Workers / Monthly Payrolls for Internal Teams.

We're only a small team (10 of us). That includes a finance team of 5 bloody lovely people, and we're looking for number 6. You'll be supporting our Finance and Payroll Managers, and will have plenty of support from both of them.

The job is actually a 50/50 split between bookkeeping and payroll.

The payroll stuff is probably slightly easier to learn, though, so we figure someone with the bookkeeping experience makes most sense.

We want you for your enduring love of VAT legislation on purchases, expenses, etc

We're similar to an accountancy practice, in that we look after bookkeeping for several companies, but we're open to you having a practice or industry background.

Either way, though, we'd really like you to be familiar with Sage.

We think hours per week is about right (split over 4 or 5 days, to include Wed and Fri for Payroll purposes), but if you need slightly less, or if you need something full-time, please still get in touch.
