Senior Policy Advisor - Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
Contract Length:
anticipated 10 months Location: London (5 days per week on site no flexibility) Our client is within central government in the defence sector, and they are looking to hire a Senior Policy Advisor - Communications & Stakeholder Engagement.
As the Senior Policy Advisor you will have at least five years' experience working in a similar role.In this role you will play a critical role in cross government policy for Digital Transformation; ensuring the team maximise opportunities that come from adopting a new hybrid cloud infrastructure securely and compliantly.
Aa the Senior Policy Advisor, you will act as the single conduit for draft policy review and ensure the policy is signed off with the appropriate stakeholders.
You will be required to understand organisational structures, routes for policy approval and be able to quickly identify the stakeholders.
We are looking for a Senior Policy Advisor with experience of Agile delivery methodology, with Hub members working in small teams on two-week sprints, to deliver regular policy progress.
You will also have the ability to pivot as priorities and thinking evolves.As the Senior Policy Advisor you will have the following responsibilities:
- Leadership & Delivery
- Lead all activity and engagement. Work with all stakeholders to ensure that requirements are considered. Champion the use of best practice and provide expert advice back onto the team for policy alignment and adoption.
- Change Planning
- Establish and maintain the policy release and review process, reporting as required.
- Business Readiness
- Work with all stakeholders to identify blockers or concerns with policy. Work collaboratively to progress issues and prepare the team for policy implementation.
- Change Communication
- Create and maintain communications plans both internally and externally. Be prepared to brief senior leadership on progress and provide input to stakeholder forums.
- Stakeholder Management
- Identify and classify stakeholders, ensure their inclusion in stakeholder engagement plan. Act as point of contact for larger pool / more senior stakeholders.
- A policy background is preferable, but knowledge of central government structures, processes and organisations is more important to connect policy stakeholders.
- Strong focus on customer value.
- Ability to work in fastpaced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Appreciation of how cloud technologies benefit business outcomes and the value of effective information and data management and the policies that support this.

Anticipated Length of Assignment:
Unless otherwise stated (we do carry the occasional permanent vacancy) all of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis and can sometimes become permanent.
