UTS Engineering Ltd is a global specialist in the pipeline industry. We aim to provide quality, yet cost effective piping solutions within the shortest lead time. UTS Engineering provide pipe fitting, steel fabrication and under pressure drilling services, alongside a 24 hour emergency response.
We are looking for someone to ensure that all group companies' payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
They will be required to maintain all employee payroll records, calculation of wages and applicable deductions based on employee attendance and timesheet records.
They are also required to provide support to the HR department where required.Responsibilities:
- Management and the timely processing of the full end to payroll process for all group companies currently 2 x weekly payrolls (circa 80 employees) and 4 x monthly payrolls (circa 90 employees).
- Maintaining the Sage 50 Payroll system alongside separate time and attendance systems, ensuring employee records held are current, up to date and changes processed where required.
- Collate information required for payroll from time and attendance system reports and work alongside relevant line managers to discuss and authorise any anomalies.
- Management of all pension administration compliance duties including autoenrolment processes, communications and ensuring pension files are maintained and submitted timely to the relevant pension portals.
- Internal reporting of payroll costs to the finance team and assisting with the associated accounting.
- Monthly EPS submissions.
- Working alongside the finance team to reconcile pension accounts and amounts owed to HMRC and investigate any discrepancies.
- The first point of contact for managers for questions about wages, deductions, attendance and time records.
- Support any adhoc HR projects.
Person Specification:
- Minimum 4 years' payroll experience.
- Experienced user of Sage 50 Payroll and all associated functions and capabilities.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Experience of using computerised time and attendance systems.
- Have excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Ideally will hold a recognised payroll qualification.
- Minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grade C and above. Including Maths and English.
- An understanding of the impact and input payroll has to the wider finance function would be desirable.
Working Time
3 working days per week required, which must consist of Monday and Tuesday each week to facilitate weekly payroll processing deadlines.
The third day should be flexible but consideration must be given to ensure monthly payroll processing deadlines can be met.
