Lang & Potter are the market leader in the design and manufacture of marine furniture and furnishings including cutting edge helm seat design and manufacture.

We work for some of the largest international brands in the marine industry and work hard to research, develop and detail products at the highest level.


Working within our Sales department you will be expected to integrate into a small but diverse team offering customer support and project coordination.

You will need to be highly organised and efficient in collating & recording specification and material information for various projects as well as producing cost and time estimates for quotes ensuring a smooth and methodical work flow.

You will form close working links with our workshop teams so practical approach and knowledge of upholstery and marine industry beneficial.

Commercial acumen and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is essential.


SALES ADMINISTRATION DUTIES

  • Manage client projects ensuring deadlines are met, communicating with client when required
  • Estimating/costing/preparing quotes for client specific projects
  • Collate and maintain project documentation obtaining samples when necessary
  • Review client credit limits when receiving new orders
  • Receive and process purchase orders for one of jobs
  • Follow sales order process and procedures to ensure smooth transition into production.
  • Raise requisition forms to pass through to Materials planner & purchasing.
  • Raise job cards to pass through to Materials & Scheduling Planner.
  • Update customers on order status and delivery dates.
  • Issue information for invoices to be raised.
  • Support the Sales team with other administrative tasks, if requested.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Sales Administration / Project management experience
  • Excellent communicator at all levels.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise workload accordingly.
  • Ability to read & understand client specifications and drawings
  • Efficient & organised with excellent IT skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure all paperwork processing is accurate.
  • Good knowledge of business processes & procedures.
  • Resilience & adaptability.
  • Committed to continuous improvement.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Commercial experience
  • Experience of managing multiple high value projects
  • Design / Upholstery / manufacturing background

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£22,000.00-£24,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Plymouth, PL7 4JW: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:


  • Sales: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
