Why this role matters


This specialist role will include responsibility for the vision and prioritisation of the BT TV feature development and work with the TV Product teams to contribute to the development and evolution of the product roadmap that the team will be responsible for delivering.


You will work alongside the Tribe Lead and Technical Tribe Lead to provide servant leadership for the BT TV Tribe resolving the trade-offs and bridging the gap between customer, business and tech considerations.


You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Have a strong understanding of the business unit strategic vision and communicate the strategic importance of the objectives to the TV Tribe
  • Collaborate with customers to discover their business problems and identify product solutions to meet these needs.
  • Work to the agile principles of openness, transparency and communication to continuously develop and nurture strong working partnerships with business stakeholders and encourage the squads within the Tribe to become closer to our customers and stakeholders
  • Maintain a user story backlog to enable the delivery team to create solutions to add customer value incrementally and quickly.
  • Collaborate with the team on the design and technical approach to the delivery of a prioritized backlog
  • Coach, mentor and provide feedback to the team.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of the product through embracing lessons learned session and an agile mindset.
  • Support the team to remove roadblocks that prevent team delivery of business value.
  • Actively seek opportunities for you and your team to collaborate with and learn from other employees in our organization through internal networks, events and communities of practice.

  • Commercial acumen and understanding of how TV services and products drive our commercial success.
  • Good awareness of Incident and Change Management principles in a supplier scenario

Experience

  • Mandatory Experience
  • Existing knowledge and experience of Product Ownership in a technical environment
  • Successful delivery of business outcomes requiring collaborative working between Product teams and Technical Tribes/Squads
  • Experience working with product and technical teams to establish roadmaps for business growth in a flexible and changing environment.
  • Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of products within the TV and related domain
