Our client, based in the delightful Royal Wootton Bassett, are recruiting for a Head Auctioneer to join them as they open a unique and exciting new Auction House in the region.

As Head Auctioneer your responsibilities will include:

Collaboratively working with the company's General Manager and other team members, to secure items for auction, including the negotiation of terms with sellers
Cataloguing lots and securing seller approval of catalogue descriptions. Working closely with the General Manager, photographers and other team members to ensure catalogues are accurate and wellpresented
The accurate valuation of lots on and off site, at private addresses or organised valuation events
Organising lots within the saleroom or other venues to ensure they are well presented, secure and viewable. Addressing any requests for condition reports using skill
Conducting auctions from the rostrum and online, and managing other auction team members including auctioneers and clerks
Collaborating with the General Manager and company Directors, to analyse auction house performance
Contributing to the development of strategies, for continued profitability and growth

For the role of Head Auctioneer, we would love to hear from you if your have the following:

Minimum 5 years' experience as a general chattels and antiques auctioneer (essential)
Professional membership of a qualification from the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (preferred)
Leadership and management skills
A strong understanding of the key drivers of profitability
Excellent verbal communication skills
Local to Royal Wootton Bassett
