Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to work within our Surgical Day Care Theatres

To assist in patient care and other theatre related duties under the supervision of trained staff.


Participate in development of self and others, work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their relatives/carers.

Duties

Help maintain, document count of all equipment, swabs, sutures and blades at all times throughout the patients'

Assist in the preparation of patients for and support professional during treatments, investigation and procedures.

Participate as a member of the circulation team.

Transport and assist with the escorting of patients between wards, theatre and other departments when necessary.

Collect, sort and clean clinical equipment and instruments.

Carry out decontamination and sterilization procedures after a period of training.

Cleaning and preparation of patient trolleys.

Contribute to the maintenance of cleanliness of furnishings, fabrics, fittings and sundries.

Participate in dispatching dirty instruments.

Assist in the transfer of materials and equipment within theatre complex.

Establish and maintain relationships with other members of staff.

Answer telephones and relay messages.

Help to maintain a sterile field.

To sit and give support throughout to patients undergoing local anaesthetic procedures.
