Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working within a controlled ISO13485 laboratory quality system and in accordance with GLP/GMP compliant procedures.
  • Perform microbiological tests to support the development of new medical devices.
  • Involvement in the development and validation of new microbiological assays.
  • Accurate recording and analysis of laboratory data in accordance with good documentation practices.
  • Writing of validation protocols, reports and technical documents.
  • Assist in laboratory test method/procedural revisions.
  • Responsible for standard laboratory routines, equipment calibration, maintenance, replenishment, etc.
  • Use of equipment calibration management and electronic documentation systems.
  • Assist with the preparation of microbiological media and reagents in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Assist with routine QC testing of media in line with standard pharmacopeial practices (e.g. growth promotion, sterility).
  • Preparation and maintenance of microbial stock cultures.
  • Visualisation of microorganisms using microscopy.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory processes and procedures.
  • Support a positive safety culture and assist with EHS documentation.
  • Training of staff in basic microbial techniques and procedures.
  • Support research projects if required.
  • Develop methods and perform testing for market support material when required.

Travel Requirements
Minimal (5-10 days a year).
