This is a 1 year fixed role with the possibility of extension, working 9.00am - 5.00pm for five days, a total of 35 hours per week.

However, flexible working hours and home working is available.

Job Purpose
To support the Chambers objectives in encouraging businesses and educational organisations to work together.


To extend the links between businesses and educational and training organisations by brokering a range of activity and to develop the project of a "Business Family" for looked after children.


Principal Accountabilities

  • To increase the relationship between Chambers members and schools, working alongside the Careers ad Enterprise Company, to support businesspeople involved with schools and to find ways to bring more employers into the classroom.
  • To develop administrative systems to track this information and input relevant data.
  • To recruit schools and other organisations and businesses to Chambers' membership.
  • To increase teachers' awareness of technical education and the businesses in their area, support all development of classroom resources and arrange career fairs.
  • To promote and sell the Investors in Young People (working name) to businesses.
  • To ensure all businesspeople engaging with young people are DBS checked and offered appropriate training.
  • To support the use of Ignite Platform (startup programme) in classrooms and to students.
  • To support 10 looked after children per annum (minimum) to have relevant business experiences to increase their life chances with a range of businesses.
  • To support business governors on schools governing bodies with their enterprise responsibilities.

  • To work flexibly, sometimes outside of usual working hours when asked and when necessary

  • To be willing to undertake any other duties that may be required

Essential criteria

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) including English and Maths.

Proven Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of engaging and building relationships with leaders from schools, colleges and businesses.
  • A strong track record of stakeholder engagement and management and of communicating with a variety of audiences, preferably in the education and careers sector.
