Description
About the role
Social Work graduates, our Adult Social Care services want you

If you're looking for an innovative and supportive employer to start your social work career with, then Cambridgeshire County Council is the place to be.

We're recruiting now to the 2024 cohort of Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) in their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) across Cambridgeshire's Adult's services.

What will you be doing?

As a NQSW in our teams, you'll use your skills, knowledge, and experience to manage a range of cases.

You'll work directly with adults, informal carers, and their families along with other stakeholders and partners.

Your caseload will be varied, allowing you the opportunity and experience to grow as a practitioner and develop your skills and confidence.

You'll co-work more complex caseloads alongside experienced Social Workers helping you make the right decisions when it matters most.

We believe that the ASYE programme is a crucial part of your professional development, that's why our NQSW's undertaking their ASYE are given a reduced workload to enable time for learning and development.

The comprehensive programme has been designed to enhance your skills, knowledge and capability and strengthen your professional confidence.

During the 12-month ASYE programme, you will receive regular, high quality, reflective supervision (weekly for the first 13 weeks; then fortnightly thereafter).

You'll be observed on multiple occasions which affords the opportunity to involve service users and/or carers in your assessment. You'll complete Critical Reflection Logs, which are fundamental in developing critical reflective practice. You'll also complete quarterly Professional Development Plans to support you through the programme.

You will take part in Action learning sets and have access to Portfolio Development and workshop sessions that will ensure you have all of the knowledge and training you need to complete your ASYE.

About you
We're committed to innovative ways of working and welcome like-minded people to join our dedicated and motivated workforce.

Our roles are based across Cambridgeshire. Flexibility will be needed as to where you are deployed, to give you the very best ASYE experience.
