Southmoor Industrial Estate

Temp to perm contract

£35,000 per annum

Our client, a market leading manufacturing business based in Wythenshawe are currently recruiting for an experienced Health and Safety Officer.
The role will be to implement, maintain and improve the Health and safety management System within our client's business.

Taking responsibility as a critical member of the project for implementation of ISO 45001, working closely with department heads and team members to document and create meaningful compliant processes to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing maintenance of the H&S management system.

SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To ensure the business operates with full compliance with the Health & Safety Executive.
Develop, implement, and improve H&S management systems, processes, and procedures to support business operations in accordance with ISO 4500
Perform internal audits to ensure control processes are being adhered to and risk is identified and mitigated to maintain conformity and compliance.
Provide advice and support to the management team in all aspects of safe working practices.
Manage and monitor emergency procedures, signage, suitability of PPE and COSHH control.
Strives to provide safe, secure, and healthy working conditions for all workers
Perform inductions for new staff, temporary workers and contractors.
To carry out effective health and safety training to identified personnel as and when required, ensuring complete understanding of appropriate legislation.

Personal skills

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Effective problemidentification and problemsolving skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Health and safety management qualification IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent.
Experience with SAP is considered an advantage but not essential.

Working Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week.

Starting salary of £35,000 per annum.
