The Company
Nigel Wright are currently working with a branded food manufacturing business, looking to recruit a Technical Manager.

The site is embarking on a period of change, and with that comes a need to bring in additional talent.


The Role

As Technical Manager,you will work to ensure compliance with all statutory obligations, customer requirements, company policies with respect to food safety, legality, integrity and quality.

You will develop and implement effective management systems to ensureoperational and technical integrity at all times

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the quality & hygiene function within its budget and ensuring that it operates within agreed KPIs
  • Ensure technical team members are fully trained in the relevant SOPs to complete their roles.
  • Investigate, review and ensure customer non conformances are responded to in timely manner; develop and manage nonconformance improvement programme.
  • Ensure internal audit programme is completed on schedule.
  • Audit the operational process, and work with operational managers, to ensure full food safety, legality, integrity and traceability at all times, as expected by relevant codes of practice and guidelines.
  • Assist in the development of the QMS to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all factory paperwork is reviewed by the quality team to ensure correctness and filled / archived correctly.
  • Monitor and approve concessions and corrective actions when required.
  • Act as the deputy point of contact for customers' technologists
  • Deputy on the TACCP and HACCP team
  • Promote effective team working practices to ensure good communication, employee development and continuous improvement through people skills and knowledge
