Transport Manager

Location - Ramsgate, Kent

Salary - £35,000 to £40,000

Are you able to commute between Kent and Sussex sites on a regular basis?

We have a fantastic opportunity in Ramsgate for a Transport Manager to work for one of our clients. In this role you will be working full-time.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth running of the allocated transport shift activity, ensuring appropriate resources are available
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation affecting the transport and warehouse operations, including Health and Safety
  • Responsible for vehicle maintenance and monitoring defects and faults
  • Record and report all vehicle and driver incidents and accidents
  • Contribute to the identification, evaluation, and where appropriate implementation, of improvement initiatives
  • Route planning
  • Ensure compliance with all Employment Law requirements within the transport and warehouse operations
  • Monitor staff performance levels, providing feedback to the employee and to the Depot Manager
  • Regular and open communication with all drivers on shift matters and working processes
  • Build, maintain, and enhance effective working relationships
  • Other duties as deemed reasonable

Skills and Experience

  • Valid and up to date Transport/Certificate of Professional Competence
  • Good communication skills
  • Proven organisational skills, including planning and problem solving
  • Able to regularly travel between the Kent and Sussex
  • Previous experience as a Transport Manager
