We currently have a vacancy for a:

M&S Business Unit Controller
Working alongside the Site Director you will drive the overall development and growth of our main retail account
M&S across all disciplines - Commercial, Marketing, NPD, Technical, Service, Supply Chain Procurement & B2B.
Taking responsibility for strategic action planning and the aim of increasing sales and profitability within this key

account.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


To succeed in this role you will be/have/display:

  • Create, implement and deliver the customer long term strategy, across a number of product areas, existing and
new, whilst maintaining a consistent approach in line with the company strategy. Keeps a live JBP plan in place
- across all functions of the account with the customer, reporting on performance monthly providing a bridge
- against performance where appropriate.

  • Develops strategic plans to maximise commercial objectives, setting and achieving business targets, measuring
results and working closely with the senior management team. Ensure an up to update internal Business Plan is in
- place for M&S across all functions.

  • Acts as lead for promoting, advancing, developing, communicating and managing the customer relationship in
order to maintain sales, elevate growth, uphold the supplier reputation and deliver on service level agreements,
- budget and rebate rates etc. Work tirelessly to deliver a sales support package that exceeds customers'
- expectations

  • Account management of all the key areas, including customer presentations, price negotiations, forecasting,
production management, supply chain, NPD and building and developing the customer relationship. Be a
- confident networker, who takes a collaborative approach and delivers results through people and they are held
- accountable to deadlines.

  • Develops new business relationships within all M&S departments at senior levels, building contacts and
networking with other industry professionals, including sustaining effective relationships with existing contacts in

  • M&S, suppliers and competitors maintaining an effective source of market intelligence and issues that may
- affect future new business opportunities. This will involve you being in the customer's head office regularly and
- attending appropriate industry functions as and when required. Ensure you make yourself available to the
- customer as and when required as this maybe outside office hours and with late notice.

  • Identifies opportunities in conjunction with marketing & NPD. Researches, analyses, develops, plans and
provides points of difference to existing & new product development via first to market concepts, product
- upgrades, promotions, packaging, limited editions, seasonal activity

  • Analyse and process all new business submissions ensuring they adhere to company KPI's, with the emphasis on
delivering maximum margin and profitability. Provide reports to the Site Director to support project work and
- product launches. Ability to build and operate complex open book cost models. Takes ownership along with
- finance department of open book cost models and any associated tracker's in place with the customer. Full
- accountability for profit and loss reporting and accurate monthly and weekly forecasting against budgeted plans.

  • Ability to construct professional PowerPoint presentations, utilise MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets
at an advanced level.

  • Carry out margin analysis and formulate action plans to optimise sales and margin for poor performing sku's.
  • Negotiates and agrees customer prices to maintain and increase profit margins whilst guarding against losses,
adhering to customer requirements

  • Communicates effectively to the customer and internally whilst project managing until the point of
implementation ensuring all are delivered on time


PERSON SPECIFICATION:


  • To succeed in this role you will be/have/display:
  • Significant Commercial experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment preferably in a Retail
Environment.

  • Significant Key account experience
  • Have excellent customer facing interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
  • Be a natural leader, analytical thinker, have resourcemanagement skills and the ability to work
effectively under pressure
