Description
Cordius are currently looking for a HR Officer to join a market leader in the Aerospace and Military industries based in Whitstable, Kent.
- As a HR Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the HR function in daytoday activities including working with and giving guidance to line managers and employees.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Provide managers with expert guidance and counsel on HR issues, such as policy, procedure, employment law, employee relations, and organisational values.
- Help line managers manage disciplinary, grievance, and absence matters.
- Collaborate with employees, management, and Occupational Health to promote and maintain employee health and wellness.
- Assist coworkers and supervisors in developing their HR and people management expertise.
- Ensure that all administration is carried out efficiently and in accordance with data protection guidelines on a daily basis.
- Utilize the HR Information System (HRIS) effectively to help managers, detect possible concerns, and generate highquality reports when necessary.
- Participate actively in the research, drafting, consulting, and implementation of new or revised HR policies and initiatives.
- Update & support relevant managers with monthly headcount and forecasting data.
- Assume a leadership position in the recruitment process to ensure that processes run smoothly and that our methods satisfy the needs of the various functions/levels. Develop productive ties with employment agencies as necessary.
- Ensure that contractual terms and conditions comply with current legislation and that job descriptions are updated as required.
- Support the company's Apprenticeship programme by collaborating closely with each department to ensure that apprentices' skill and experience development is in line with the apprenticeship standard. On a frequent basis, review with the trainee. Engage with local schools and colleges to promote the future apprentice programme.
- As opportunities arise, assist the HR team with a variety of projects and activities.
Skills and experience
- CIPD qualified or studying towards gaining the qualification
- Previous experience working in HR
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience using HR systems
- Ability to deal effectively with change and ambiguity
- Excellent communication skills
