Summary

D&D Groundcare and Forestry Ltd cover a wide geographical area across the central belt. This land management role is within our project delivery team which covers Ayrshire and surrounding areas.

The following would be advantageous.

  • Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides (PA1)
  • Level 2 Award in the Safe Application of Pesticides using Pedestrian Hand Held Equipment (PA6)
  • Level 2 award in safe use of brushcutters and trimmers.
  • Mobile Phone with the ability to use Microsoft Teams and Avenza Maps.

Job description


Our forestry workers manage a variety of works which include but are not limited to tree planting, chemical and hand weeding and motor-manual tree crop maintenance across Ayrshire and the Central Belt.

These roles are physically demanding, often requiring working in remote areas and in all weather.


You will need.
The ability to use your initiative

To be thourgh and pay attention to detail

Ability to work well with others

Good verbal communication skills

The ability to work well with your hands

The ability to carry out basic tasks on a handheld device


Restrictions
Certificates of competence may be required, carrying out certain tasks.


Things you need to know


These are self employed positions, Work can be demanding and longer days may be necessary during peak times (typically early spring and autumn) to keep in line with site targets.


Job specific requirements (Desired, non essential)

  • Level 3 award in emergency first aid at work (in a forestry context 'known as +F')
  • Level 2 award in chainsaw maintenance
  • Level 2 award in crosscutting timber using a chainsaw
  • Level 2 award in felling and processing trees up to 380mm
  • Level 2 award in safe use of forestry clearing saw
  • Level 2 Certificate of Competence in All Terrain Vehicle Handling.
  • Category E trailer license

Salary:

£19,226.00-£38,540.00 per year

Experience:


  • Forestry, Agriculture or Amenity: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification +F (Forestry Certificate) (preferred)
  • Full UK Category B Driving License 2+ Years (preferred)
  • NPTC PA1 & PA6 Tickets (preferred)
  • NPTC Brushcutter Ticket (preferred)

Work authorisation:

  • United Kingdom (required)
