Procurement Coordinator

M27 Clifton, City Borough of Salford

£23K - £26K Per Annum
Our Client is one of the leading providers in the fire and security industry in the United Kingdom.

They offer a range of services including the design, supply, installation, commission, service and maintenance of alarm systems throughout the United Kingdom.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in our Swinton office.


Key Tasks:

  • Involve in all post sales coordination
  • To be familiar and competent with all the processes and tasks that fall in the Helpdesk Department
  • Procurement & issuing of parts
  • Raising purchase orders for all delegated suppliers as and when required to meet the needs of the business
  • Ensuring that all purchase orders are reconciled to the order acknowledgements as soon as they have been received to ensure that there are no discrepancies
  • Obtaining quotes for miscellaneous items and special parts and communicate them to the relevant personnel in a timely manner
  • Obtaining best cost, lead times and payment terms from suppliers in line with Business targets
  • Ensuring that supplier questionnaires for all delegated suppliers are distributed and are chased for return along with all required certifications
  • Liaising with all other departments on stock / purchasing related issues
  • Procurement Supply Chain Coordination
  • Implement and continually improve, procurement processes, policies and best practices that ensure we provide high quality and a costeffective solution
  • Reporting
  • Participate and directly respond to telephone calls if pertinent or redirect as appropriate.
  • General Duties: Assist other staff, Regions and departments as required.

Personal Specifications:

  • Experience within a purchasing environment ideally within an engineering environment (preferred)
  • Engineering / Electrical qualifications an advantage but not essential
  • GCSE grade C or better in maths and English or equivalent qualifications
  • Able to prioritise own workload and coordinate suppliers lead times and deliveries
  • Good overall commercial awareness
  • Knowledge of stock control procedures and computerised inventory systems
  • Knowledge of processing purchases and supply chain related issues
  • Able to and enjoys working in a fastpaced environment
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Accuracy and an eye for detail
  • Adhere to process and compliance requirements
  • Work well as part of a team
  • IT literate
