Responsible for the organisation of secretarial support to Consultants, Senior Nurse, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff within the Consultants team i.e.

Specialist Nurses.

Responsible for the day to day management of the administrative/secretarial team, delegation of tasks and co-ordination of annual leave.

Contribute to a comprehensive efficient and effective administrative and clerical service. Will include minute taking across a number of strategic service meetings.

Contribute to a consistently high standard of patient care as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Main point of contact between patient/patient relatives and Drs and Specialist Nurses. Will require compassionate communication skills to undertake sensitive conversations.

Ability to collate and analyse data for evaluation and create extensive reports to reflect findings

Job Purpose

  • Responsible for the organisation of secretarial support to Consultants, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff within the Consultants team i.e. Specialist Nurses.
  • Responsible for the day to day management of the administrative/secretarial team, including supervision of the administrative staff, delegation of tasks and coordination of annual leave and undertake appraisals of junior staff.
  • Contribute to a comprehensive efficient and effective administrative and clerical service.
  • Contribute to a consistently high standard of patient care as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
