Applications are invited for the position of MSc Programme Administrator in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London.

Working with the MSc Programme Directors, the Director of Postgraduate Studies, the Department of Mathematics administrative and academic staff, you will be responsible for the provision of an effective and professional service in support of Master's degree courses.


Duties and responsibilities:


The Department of Mathematics runs a successful programme of Master's degree courses which account for a significant amount of the teaching activity in the Department.

The MSc Programme Administrator is responsible for providing full administrative support to the MSc in Applied Mathematics, MSc in Machine Learning and Data Science (Online), MSc in Mathematics and Finance, MSc in Pure Mathematics and MSc in Statistics Programmes.

The post holder will also provide general assistance to the Statistics Section and support the Online Education Coordinator and MSc Programme Co-ordinator with MSc course related matters.


Essential requirements:

The essential requirements for this post are as follows:

  • Degree level education (or equivalent).
  • Previous administrative experience in a Higher Education environment.
  • Experience in setting up and improving administrative processes.
  • A good understanding of academic regulations, including how to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • A good understanding of student systems and Registry procedures.
  • Ability to design and maintain website content and structure using the appropriate software.
  • Working knowledge of a range of computerbased procedures and software packages, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook), student records systems, Blackboard or similar Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure, prioritise workload to meet deadlines and work successfully in a team as well as on your initiative.
  • Effective, highly developed interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Proven ability to use initiative and work without supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.

Further information:

This is a full time, open-ended position, to start as soon as possible. You will be based at South Kensington Camus.
