Presales Lead to join the team and work closely with new and existing customers to help drive the most value for them, from Appvia's products.


About the role


As the Presales Engineering Lead, you'll own the Presales Engineering function and truly be a part of the vision and leadership team.

You'll have a good understanding of cloud-native technologies, the common pitfalls of cloud-native adoption, the journey and how to define and execute strategies to enable the customers' adoption.


You will have a huge passion for customer success, for how technology can enable a customers' business objectives, as well as for educating the industry as a whole on where Appvia and technology is going.


In this role you'll be:

  • Leading and growing our Sales Engineering function, being a crucial part of Appvia's leadership team
  • Working closely with our customers to identify their key business and technical challenges
  • Building solutions, providing technical guidance and educating the customer throughout
  • Producing statements of work or customer success plans for implementation, as well as performing implementation duties
  • Developing trusting relationships and identifying key people for workshops to help produce customer success plans
  • Consulting with a range of partners and industry leaders, from Clevel executives through to developers
  • Collaborating with product managers and engineers to help shape the product roadmap
  • Working closely with key accounts to proactively find opportunities for our customers to gain value from Appvia
  • Collaborating with our Sales and Marketing teams to help drive content and education in identified industry problem areas
  • Writing blogs and performing talks on leading industry topics

About you


You're likely to have previous experience as a Technical Account Manager, Solutions Engineer / Architect, or in Pre-sales with implementation and/or leadership experience in these domains.

Alongside having a thorough understanding of DevOps practices and tools (think CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and Severless) and a constant desire to want to see customers succeed, you'll also be able to talk to us about your experience in:

  • Golang, Python or Ruby
  • Working closely or within development teams to appreciate good development hygiene and ways of working, as well as the challenges that they face
  • Operational constraints and common issues from networking, databases and general cloudbased pitfalls, specifically detailing your hands on experience here
  • Customerfacing roles at Enterprise level
  • Problem resolution and understanding symptoms to identify the root cause
  • Prioritising tasks based on customer and business needs
