  Information Security Specialist Hybrid Crawley (3 days a week) Permanent up to £55k per annum

A position has become available for an Information Security Specialist to join the technology function of an established organisation. Primary responsibility will be providing strong technical, professional Information Security focus and operations support to the organisation.


Job Requirements (not limited to):

• Develops and delivers IS security standards, best practices, architecture and systems to ensure information system security across the enterprise.
• Implementing vulnerability tracking and resolution
• Preventing and detecting intrusion
• Identifying gaps and vulnerabilities in existing system and resolving them in a timely manner
• Implementing internal system standards for MS SQL and Oracle
• Perform SIEM configuration and optimisation tasks for security monitoring.
• Locally assist, whilst working with global security tools sets.
• Working with Information Security Manager and IS Manager to define security standards
• Implements procedures to ensure compliance to information security standards.
• Provide Information security advice and guidance to the company's IS manager and staff to enable them to achieve their objectives.
• Work closely with the Information Security Manager.
• Participate in improvement initiatives and global projects.
• Work closely with the Global Information Security team
• Assist the information security manager in detecting, investigating, and defending against information security incidents
• Supporting Company Information Security training and awareness programme/initiatives

Person Specification:

• Substantial knowledge of asset security, communication and networks security, access management, security testing and operations and secure software development.
• Detailed understanding of Information Security Standards e.g. ISO27001/Cyber Essentials/CIS20/FFIEC/NIST.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft operating environments.
• Strong PC skills.

• Good interpersonal skills

• Should be a flexible team player, proactive and have the ability to succeed in a complex and dynamic environment.
• An understanding of compliance, continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
• Strong Information Systems, cyber security and digital security awareness.
• Experience of working in an international organisation and awareness of cultural differences.
• An ability to work collaboratively with the IS team and Information Security team
