We're looking for a platform engineer to bring expertise and knowledge in operations to help us maintain our Operational Platform.
We're looking for someone who loves the techy side of being a technologist but also someone who cares about delivering greatcustomer experiences.
Day to day you'll be working on a prioritised backlog of work covering the breadth of the Operational Platform, both on premise and in the cloud.
You'll have a keen eye for spotting opportunities to do things better using your experience and best practiceand love to automate away drudgery.
Insatiable curiosity will inspire you to learn and develop on the go as our technologies change.This role would suit someone early in their career with 1-3 years experience in a technology operations or development environment.
Here's what you'll be doing
- Supporting and maintaining the bank's Operational Platform through an enterprise transition to Azure
- Delivering technology activities in a rapidly changing environment
- Identifying and delivering service improvements
- Contributing to our knowledge capital in the team as you learn
- Automating manual support activities to improve productivity
- Engineering, validating, implementing?and quality assuring?technical solutions
- Root cause analysis and remediation of issues
- Working closely?with?others to?estimate work,?manage domain scope, risks and issues
- Collaborating with internal and external parties to provide excellent customer service
To be successful you'll need to bring
- Selfstarter willing to learn and seek answers to questions
- An operations mindset focused on keeping our environments stable through curiosity and problem solving
- Broad technical expertise with the determination to own, diagnose and resolve platform issues
- The desire to make things easy through automation or clear documentation
- A positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and wow our internal customers
- Good analytical and problemsolving skills
We'd love you to have
- IT Operations experience
- A developer mindset and automation skills to match in languages such as Python, Java or JavaScipt
- Experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools and ways of working
- Experience of working in agile teams
- Experience in our toolchain : Openshift / Kubernetes, Docker, GIT version control and Github usage (including direct API access), Jenkins, GoCD, Bash
- Any experience in logging, monitoring or capacity management tools would be advantageous
