About the role


As Lead Proposition Manager at Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) you will be responsible for leading the team that manages our Investment Solutions across Direct to Consumer (D2C), Financial Advice and Workplace propositions.

Joining HL's Proposition Centre of Excellence,this is an exciting opportunity to use your expertise and deep understanding of target markets, our competitive and regulatory environment, and the lifecycle of financial products, to provide leadership within the Investment Proposition team in building theOne HL Proposition strategy and representing Proposition across HL's Product teams and missions.


What you'll be doing

  • Leading HL's Investment Solutions across D2C, Financial Advice and Workplace propositions
  • Providing line management and leadership to the team of Investment Solutions Proposition Managers and Executives
  • Driving the Macro Proposition Strategy in line with the wider Proposition and business strategies, recommending improvements towards client and business outcomes
  • Establishing, communicating, embedding, and delivering an Investment Proposition roadmap
  • Ensuring Investment Proposition products meet the requirements of Consumer Duty, are fairly priced and delivering good value alongside improving outcomes
  • Defining target markets, safe delivery of products to their target client groups, and where required, safe withdrawal from the market
  • Ensuring research into client and consumer needs enables us to generate proposition ideas from an Investment Solutions perspective
  • Providing regular insightful analysis and intelligence of the market environment to key business stakeholders, combining competitor research and monitoring relevant to investment products & solutions, with key industry and wider market trends
  • Identify, build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About you

  • Demonstrable experience of managing and improving propositions, including taking to market and withdrawing where necessary, through evidence and databacked strategies to commercial success
  • Experience of taking products through the endtoend governance process, including defining target market, understanding client needs (including vulnerable clients), product development and approvals through the full suite of governance bodies
  • Experience of managing high performing teams
  • Excellent knowledge and deep understanding of the regulation, competitive forces and behaviours framing the savings and investments market, particularly around the manufacture and distribution of D2C, Financial Advice and Workplace Investment Solutions
  • Deep technical understanding of manufactured and distributed products, services and tools, across relevant channels, tax wrappers and business models
  • Demonstrable experience of proactively leading and developing crossbusiness alignment to improve delivery, of working with Product, Technical and Service teams
  • Demonstrable experience of effectively working with and influencing senior stakeholders, industry bodies and regulators
  • Qualifications in the Investment Management Certificate and Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning

Working Schedule
This is a full time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working is available, with flexibility open for discussion.
