Packing and Logistics OperativeReporting to Warehouse Supervisor
Hours
10am to 6pm with an hour unpaid lunch break
Role Overview
- Working in an Industrial Mill environment with a mixture of indoor and outdoor work
- Multi skilled operative to provide support and assistance in all Mill logistics operations as required and trained
- Full Training will be provided
- Forklift license preferrable but not essential
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operating FLT's on site to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, picking, packing and general logistic duties within the Mill as instructed and trained.
- Assisting in unloading of stock and updating stock sheets as and when required.
- Loading of lorries with deliveries.
- Stock counting and location checks.
- Following all Health and Safety policies and procedures and working in a safe and efficient manner and using correct PPE as required.
- Handling chemicals with correct RPE required.
- General housekeeping of warehouse and overall site.
- Machine operating (once fully trained) and ensuring bags are packed correctly and in a timely fashion.
- Check loads or deliveries for damaged or missing items upon receipt.
- Report any issues immediately to line Manager.
- Ensure customer orders or collections are picked and any shortages immediately reported to Line Manager.
Administration
- Update stock sheet as and when required.
- Process all products loaded onto the bagging system and record any shortages.
- Ensure all picking instructions are followed on tickets when loading and that correct products/ quantities are loaded every time.
Note
- These roles and responsibilities will change from time to time and the post holder is required to undertake any additional duties as deemed appropriate
- Staff are required to participate in training, workshops and meetings considered relevant to their job
- Staff must carry out their duties with full regard to the rules, policies and procedures and conditions of service contained in their employment contracts and staff handbook
- Staff must adhere to all health and safety legislation
- Staff must promote equality and diversity in the workplace
Staff are required to undertake any other task that is deemed reasonable within their skill set
