Description

As a claims adjuster, you will proactively manage to conclusion claims within your remit, and where applicable, lead any co-insurance partners in resolving claims of various levels of complexity.

This will include compliance with claims guidelines as well as the setting and advising of case strategy. SCOR utilises a panel of preferred TPA's and vendors so expert management forms a key part of this role.


There will be a bias towards Property and Legal Expense, Programme Claims, although the role may include handling of claims from other areas within the Specialty business segment, liaising with Practice Leaders from other segments.


You will be supported on this journey by a high quality mentoring and training programme that will be tailored for you as part of an annual review process.


  • Deliver expert claims adjusting to SCOR Specialty within the Portfolio claims team, specialising in International and USA property binders, adhering to SCOR Best Practices and Claims Handling procedures & protocols
  • Report on operational performance and establish a culture of continuous improvement to support the overall EMEA Programme claims strategy of providing a Centre of Excellence in claims
  • Take an active role in advising SCOR underwriters and actuaries providing insight and support to assist in the development of the book of business
  • Work with and independently of underwriting to develop and maintain client relationships and be responsible for key accounts
  • Represent SCOR and the claims department internally and externally including review meetings with brokers and/or policy holders
  • Manage the volatility of a portfolio of claims through early, accurate reserving, focussing on target outcomes with the customer in mind. Work within SCOR ethical and service standards as well as fulfilling compliance and regulatory requirements
  • As may be required from time to time, provide support within matrix reporting arrangements to the Head of Single Risk Claims
  • Where required deputise for senior colleagues
  • Participate in relevant market events / initiatives on behalf of SCOR

Experience:


  • Several years experience in a Claims Adjuster role demonstrating expertise in first party Property and Legal Expense claims.
  • A good understanding of the Lloyd's, UK, and European Markets
  • Specialist technical capability with applied practical and commercial business skills.
  • Expertise of claims handling within the International Property and Legal Expense market. Additional US experience is an advantage.
  • The ability to develop an understanding and detailed knowledge of specialist product lines.
